Lens for the highest demands
The Samyang MF 85mm F1.4 MK2 is a further development of the popular Samyang MF 85mm F1.4 lens to meet the highest demands of manual photography enthusiasts. The second generation of this Lens brings some new features.

NEW:
De-Click function
The De-Click function cancels the click stops of the aperture steps. The aperture can then be adjusted continuously, which enables precise, fine adjustment and is also very useful for film work. Simply turn the silver ring of the lens to "Click" or "Free", just as you need it.

New aperture, new design and weather protection
The aperture built into this 2nd generation Lens has 9 rounded blades instead of the previous 6. This makes it easier to create round highlights in the bokeh. Sun stars, which are created when the aperture is slightly open and a light source is in focus, also have 18 instead of 12 rays.

The exterior of the Lens has also been redesigned. The controls are easy to grip and dirt-repellent thanks to their shape. This Lens now also has a weather protection on the bayonet, which protects the inside from moisture and raindrops. Although this does not make it waterproof, it can still be used safely in the rain or snow.

Weighing only around 540 g and measuring only approx. 7.5 cm in length, the lens is significantly lighter and more compact than other 85 mm lenses.

Unique perspectives
With its image angle of 28.3° on full format and 17.7° on APS-C, this lens primarily enables beautiful portrait shots. However, it is also suitable for travel and nature photography. The slight telephoto focal length allows the photographer to draw the viewer's eye to details that tend to get lost in everyday life. The gentle bokeh, which increases as the aperture is opened, allows subjects to be highlighted in magical compositions. Thanks to the close focusing distance of 110 cm, almost no space is too small for good photos. The compact 85mm Samyang portrait lens produces unique shots. Thanks to the extremely good speed of F1.4, great shots are possible even in unfavorable lighting conditions, making the lens particularly suitable for Lens and astrophotography (widefield).

High resolution for excellent optical quality
The outstanding imaging performance is thanks to the sophisticated optical system. This consists of 7 groups with 9 elements and thus sets new standards. At this focal length, the optical construction only requires 1 aspherical hybrid lens, which minimizes the various imaging errors. This and Samyang's own UMC multi-coating produce a crystal-clear, crisp image. In particular, the excellent distortion correction must be mentioned, as well as the excellent resolution from the center to the edge. The removable lens hood also prevents distracting lateral light incidence and the associated lens reflections.

The filter thread with a diameter of 72mm allows the use of various filter types, even with the lens hood attached.
